WASHINGTON, DC – (RealEstateRama) — Winners of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Housing Awards 2016 were announced on Friday 4 March at Belfast City Hall. The awards aim to showcase excellence and recognise the people making a difference in communities across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The event, now in its seventh year, was sponsored by Choice Housing. Award categories included promoting integration, housing hero and raising standards in the private rented sector. The winners were chosen by an independent panel of expert judges except for best housing story which was decided by public vote.

Nicola McCrudden, CIH director for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland said: “These awards exhibit the excellent work being done by organisations and individuals to support people in housing need in our communities. This year the standard was extremely high and we have been impressed by the innovation shown by the housing industry in what is very challenging times. I am confident that the achievements of the winners and finalists will inspire others to deliver the best possible services for tenants and communities.”
